Psycho Shower Scene Audio Activity
On the 19th September around the time of when we first started college, we got set a task to produce a psycho activity scene where we had part of an 'horror' film video and we had to create our own sound to produce in the background. The software we had to use was Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. The function of the cue sheets were that it helped us organise our actions to create the piece of backing sound for the clip. An example of this would be that we would watch the clip of the psycho scene and jot down the actions that are needed to be made and interpret what the actors and actress' do.
What is meant by the term 'Foley' is that it is something relating to or concerned to or concerned with the addition of recorded sound effects after the shooting of a film. The sound effects workshop we had was we got given a variety of objects that we had to think that'll work right with the clip. An example of this would be a box of rice that we could use for the running of the shower, bottles of water, cabbages with a chopping board to link to the usage of 'death'. Some of the sounds we created was the screaming when the woman got hurt, the shutting of the door (this was heard at the start of the clip) and the running of the shower was created by us using the rice in boxes. Furthermore, we lacked on incidental noises, which could of been the water trickling down the bath...
The equipment we used was the use of rice boxes, bottled water, computers, recorder to record the sound effects - we had many resources available to make this successful enough. What worked well was the use of imagination we had to make the sound effects we created, worked well with the film clip, by it flowing, in sync and it fitting in right. There was some parts that were quite challenging and difficult during our process making of the sound, by making sure the effects were long enough to make it flow well and getting things into the right position.
What is meant by the term 'found content' is to make record of the links onto another document to have proof and extra evidence in showing how we did it and where we got our information and ideas from. The 'found content' we used was 3 Youtube videos that we converted onto online converter to forward our progress. The editing process was we used a software called Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, to construct our sound added onto the clip. We applied our effects into the parts when the woman closed the door, when she turned on the shower and it started playing our effect of the rice in the boxes, a creaking of the door went when the murderer entered the bathroom with the use of our sound effect of a shreek and lastly added our own effect of a scream to produce it to become louder than normal; as well as the water running in the background as she was getting stabbed from our other made sound effect from the rice boxes.
Our scene still needs longer sound effects and add more parts in to seem more realistic, this would then balance the edit out more so it flows better and doesn't just cut in with our parts of sound so it doesn't seem so odd.
